BLUEBLYND

Freelance Character Illustrator

About

I'm Keegan, a 23 year old freelance artist stationed in western Mexico, and I've been illustrating full-time since roughly 2020. Character illustration is my full time job to this day, so every commission goes directly into feeding me and keeping a roof over my head — and I'm always very grateful for the support!

Work

I specialize in illustrating weird inhuman creatures (a la monsters, aliens and furries) in vibrantly stylized digital paintings, typically with semi-realistic anatomy & proportions. However, I don't mind drawing humans at all (you'll find a few recurring faces in my examples!) and I welcome SFW, NSFW and horror/gore when I get the chance. If you want me to draw something I haven't listed here, please don't be afraid to ask!

Contact

As of right now, Telegram is the quickest way to contact me. However, I can also be found on Discord, Furaffinity & Twitter!

FAQ

  • What can I expect from commissioning you?
After your order is completed, your commission will appear as a "card" on my queue service (I use ClickUp instead of Trello), and then all you have to do is wait! Once your commission hits "in progress" status and I have a WIP to show you, I'll text you using the contact information you ordered with to make sure you like it, render it if it needs rendering, then finally send you the full-resolution file(s) either by email or Telegram!

  • What's your turnaround time like?
My queue is pretty long at the moment, so it usually takes a few months for a piece get to the top of the queue, then a few more weeks to finish it. If you need it done faster than that, I also offer rush orders, which immediately puts your piece in the "in progress" column — but the price for that varies based on the piece's size, so you'll have to ask!

  • What payment methods do you accept?
Only PayPal! All you have to do is give me your email, and I'll send you an invoice that will arrive to your inbox with a "pay now" button and a bit of info about what you ordered.

  • What if I don't have a PayPal account?
You can still pay through PayPal invoice! You just need to have a debit or credit card attached to your bank account, click "pay now", and opt out of creating an account to pay with card instead. (This may add transfer fees, but don't worry — they're on my end!)

  • Do you draw [insert fetish here]?
Probably! I'm asexual, so I don't have any strong feelings on most fetishes. Feel free to ask if you have a specific thing in mind, and I'll let you know if I'm willing to draw it!

  • Will you draw my OC and [insert canon character here]?
    Yes, I'd be happy to!

  • Do I need a colored reference to order?
It's ideal, but not strictly necessary. I have a rare form of colorblindness that messes with how I see certain subtle hues (especially blues!), so colored refs help make sure I get your OC as close to "canon" as possible. If you're not worried about that, then it's not an issue!

  • Can I post your finished commission to my social medas?
Yes, as long as you credit me somewhere!

  • Can I use your commission for an icon/profile pic/etc.?
Yes, as long as you credit me if someone asks about it!

  • Can I print and/or resell your commissioned art on other products?
No, you may not, but I appreciate the interest!

  • I love your art and think you're cool. Can we be friends?
Unfortunately, no, I don't have the energy for that right now. Thank you, though!

  • I just finished ordering a NSFW commission from you. Can I now send you pornography that I think you'd like/made me think of you?
I'd appreciate it if you didn't! While it's okay to send NSFW references if you're ordering a NSFW piece, sending me unrelated porn on your downtime is a different matter.

  • Do you do experimental pieces?
I do, I just try to avoid stylistic changes for commissioned work. If you'd like me to get weird with the colors or textures of your piece, please let me know and I'd be happy to!

  • Why are your prices listed in dollars if the invoice shows up in pesos?
I live in Mexico, and here MXN is the only accepted currency, but I work primarily for English speakers, so at the end of the day it's simply more convenient to display my prices in USD. The actual amount of money getting transferred is the same either way!

  • What program do you use?
I switch between Clip Studio Paint and Krita! If you're just starting out and intimidated by CSP's pricetag, don't be — Krita's interface may be a little rougher, but it's just as robust! Honestly, if I weren't so used to CSP for post-processing, I would switch over entirely ;)

  • I have a question that isn't listed here. Can I ask you about it?
Sure! My contacts are listed on the homepage. Just DM me and I'll get back to you ASAP!

Terms of Service

(Henceforth, the artist "blueblynd" will be referred to as "I" or "me", and the client as the second person "you".)The TOS (Terms of Service) below are a GENERAL GUIDE to my work practices and expectations. It's presented in PLAIN LANGUAGE wherever applicable, and thus may not cover every circumstance. I, the artist, reserve the right to make executive decisions in circumstances my TOS may fail to cover, and to edit/update my TOS if I consider the terms stated here insufficient or otherwise outdated. By commissioning me, you're stating that you're over 18 and agree to these terms!

  • I reserve the right to decline your commission for any reason.

  • Refunds are not offered. (I understand and apologize if this makes you uncomfortable, but I am financially incapable of offering them.)

  • Payment plans can be discussed for any order over $200 USD.

  • Unless partial payments are agreed upon ahead of time, full payment must be completed and verified before work can begin.

  • I only accept payments through PayPal. My prices are calculated in USD, but because I live in Mexico, I will ask you to pay the total in MXN if possible. In order to be as up-to-date and fair as possible, I will calculate the exchange rate that day using Google Finance.

  • If you'd like, you can request that your commission remain private. If you do, the item will still appear on the queue, but your username will be omitted from public view and no WIPs will be posted publicly.

  • Unless you request that your commission remain private, I will post it to my social medias when it is done, and tag you if applicable.

  • I do not take responsibility for my clients' actions. I do not condone the use or editing of my art for illegal or immoral acts, including (but not limited to) bigotry, misinformation or hate speech.

  • I will not draw:
    1. Loli/shota/underage/cub. ("Aging up" is iffy, and will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Little people or characters with size differences are fine.)
    2. Violence, hatred or misinformation aimed towards REAL vulnerable groups and/or minorities. These include (but are not limited to) race, gender identity, sexuality, disability, body type, children and animals. Nondiscriminatory cartoon violence is fine.
    3. REAL political issues and/or current events, including (but not limited to) mentions of actual life-threatening diseases, tragedies, or wars.
    4. NSFW illustrations of real people, including public figures.
    5. NFTs and/or any other crytpocurrency.
    6. Style mimicry of any other artists.

  • You, the client, cannot:
    1. Trace my artwork.
    2. Resell or reproduce my artwork in any form, including reproduced copies, near-copies or other derivations as produced/altered by AI.
    3. Repost my artwork, UNLESS you credit me by linking back to this Carrd.
    4. Edit my artwork, UNLESS explicit permission is given from me.
    5. Remove credit/watermark/signature from my artwork.
    6. Use my artwork for NFTs or any other cryptocurrency.
    7. Use ANY of my artwork for AI learning or otherwise feed my artwork to AI for ANY reason, including (but not limited to) alteration/"completion"/style mimicry.

  • The TAT (turn around time) for commissions depends on their size, complexity, and the speed at which I can communicate with the customer that ordered it. Because of this, all times given here are estimates, and may change depending on environmental factors.

  • I will always work to complete your commission as quickly as I can.

  • Once your commission is "active" (that is, in the "in progress" tab on ClickUp), I will create and send an initial WIP. Once this WIP is sent, you have 2 MONTHS to get back to me in order to confirm or deny the WIP so that I can progress (or correct) the piece.

  • IF you fail to reply for 2 months or more, I will be forced to consider the commission abandoned. Abandoned commissions will be moved to the “LOST CONTACT” folder and all further progress will be canceled. Commissions may ALSO be considered abandoned if they are moved to the “IN PROGRESS” folder BUT I am unable to contact you using the contact information you ordered with, so please tell me if it changes!

  • You may, if you prefer, OPT-OUT of receiving WIPs at the beginning of your order. If you do, you will not need to confirm or deny any WIPs or worry about the 2 month ghosting period, but you will also have considerably less creative control. For this reason, WIPs are assumed “yes” by default.

  • If you think you may be unable to communicate with me for a period of 2 months or more BUT STILL WANT TO RECEIVE WIPs, please let me know beforehand so that we can discuss the possibility of an extension!

  • You may request changes or edits at any time during the sketching or rendering process, and I will let you know if your request is complex or time-consuming enough to qualify for an extra charge. (Most will not be!)

  • Once the finished, full-resolution file is sent to you (via email or Telegram, depending on how you ordered), you can no longer request changes. At that point, the commission is officially considered closed, even if it has not yet been moved to the "Complete" column/status on ClickUp.

  • When you commission me, you are expected to remain courteous and professional. You're welcome to discuss concerns with me and I will be happy to fix any mistakes I make, but if you harass, abuse or threaten me, I reserve the right to cancel your commission, block/blacklist you on social media, and advise my contacts about your behavior. Please be respectful.

  • That's it! Thank you for considering supporting me!
